Madrid-based studio ÃBATON has completed the Mar de Encinas project. This two story contemporary home is located in Las MarÃas, Torrelodones, Madrid, Spain. Mar de Encinas by ÃBATON: “Due to the characteristics of the land and the vegetation, the residence was envisaged in two parts linked by a transparent passage. One of the units was built on pillars on top of highly resistant granite rock. In order to support the structure, special drilling machines with diamond disks were used to perforate in the exact place. The residence is not just part of its surroundings but overlooks them because they can be seen from all angles. Our client was very interested in separating the public areas from the private ones. So the sitting room, the kitchen and the swimming pool were located on the upper floor and the bedrooms and bathrooms on the ground floor.”
